Traveling with your baby

Traveling with a baby could be not as easy as we wish to be, especially when you have a couple of luggage filled with holiday gifts, diapers, toys etc... not to mention navigating a stroller at the busy airport. Also, if you are with an infant, you may need to feed your baby before you arrive at your destination.

Don't forget to bring a P-sling with you. Getting on and off the plane will be easier if you don't need to go through the whole process of checking or carrying a stroller. With P-sling, you can discreetly nurse while your baby is in the sling anywhere.

Carrying your baby in P-sling will also make it easier when you visit several families and friends or just need to step out for a stroll around the neighborhood.

How to take care of your P-sling

Think about your favorite T-shirt or your baby's favorite snuggle blanket. 

P-sling can be treated the same way. You take good care of it so you can appreciate and enjoy it to the fullest. 

Here is the care instruction of P-sling: 

• Gentle cleaning method is hand-wash as always. But all P-sling is machine washable (Cold water in the "Delicate" cycle). Wash in a laundry mesh bag/net is highly recommended.  
• Use a delicate laundry detergent. No bleach
• Do not soak or bleach 
• Wash with like colors
• Re-shape while damp
• No dryer (because of stainless steel ring). Hang dry in a well-ventilated place
• No Iron. Our delicate fabric is sensitive to the ironing heat 

Please keep in mind that P-sling is a consumable product. 

One of the most common mistakes of handling the sling is to pull the fabric too roughly.

This could damage the fabric and your sling may not last as long as it should. 

Remember, once your baby is inside of the sling, rings get tighter to keep the baby secure. 

When you need to tighten the fabric around the baby, please gently lift your baby before adjusting the sling.

We are excited to inform you that the last stock of Kasuri collection has just arrived!

Perfect fabric for summer

Finally, summer has arrived here in NY after rainy month of June! We are often asked by customers which P-sling collection is good for summer. Of course we have linen fabric which is great for breathability. But SIJIRA cotton is the best among our cotton collections.

Origin of SIJIRA is summer kimono in Japan. If you have never experienced summertime in Japan, we have to tell you it is hot and humid!! So the fabric has to breath better to fit the season. The fabric has unevenness on surface called Shibo. It looks like seersucker fabric. This surface makes a layer of air which results in giving lightness and coolness.

The fabric is created in Awa city known for indigo dying as "Japanese Blue". Usual SIJIRA fabric on the market does not have enough strength to safely carry babies because it is meant to be worn mostly as kimono. That's why we have been collaborating with Nagao-Orifu (founded in 1897) to produce our original SIJIRA fabric specifically for P-sling. Once you try it, you will love how the fabric dries quickly and gets softer.
